Instagram rules: API posting limits and AI content labels

The most repeated claim about Instagram, that the API allows exactly 50 posts per day, did not survive verification against Meta's documentation. The real limit is a per-account quota you are supposed to poll at runtime.

API publishing quota: poll it, never hardcode it
API limitsGraph API publishing is governed by a rolling 24-hour quota (quota_duration 86400s). Current usage (quota_usage) and the account's quota_total (currently reported as 50) come from GET /IG_USER_ID/content_publishing_limit. A flat 50-posts-per-24h-for-everyone claim was REFUTED in verification: the quota is app/account-level and Meta can change it.
What to do: Check content_publishing_limit before each API publish and respect the values it returns. Never hardcode a daily Instagram post ceiling.
Meta auto-labels detected AI content

What to do: Expect realistic AI avatar videos to be auto-labeled AI Info even without manual disclosure. Plan content so the label is not a problem, rather than trying to avoid it.
